There’s never been a more exciting time to join the Met. We offer a number of entry routes to join us, through which you will gain an externally recognised qualification on successful completion:
- Police Constable Degree Apprenticeship (PCDA)
- Degree Holder Entry Programme (DHEP)
You’ll receive the best possible training to fully equip and prepare you for the unique challenges of policing London. You’ll be employed as an officer from day one, learning alongside experienced officers on the frontline, while earning a competitive salary and, on our PCDA and DHEP routes, working towards a fully funded degree or graduate diploma in Professional Policing Practice.
The Met offers the opportunity to join us as a police constable on a full-time (40 hours) or part-time (24 hours) basis. Simply choose the option the best fits with your lifestyle when completing your PC application form.
Joining the Met as a police constable is just the start of a career that opens up fantastic opportunities to specialise and develop. On our entry routes you will spend the majority of your training on the frontline, working alongside experienced officers, contributing to policing priorities within your area and putting your learning into practice.
If you are a Volunteer Police Cadet and are looking to apply to become a police constable, please visit our website for more information on how to apply.
